Are you getting the most out of life? Do you know what makes you happy? One strategy can help you gain clarity on what you should be doing – 100 Things List.
Intro
In December I met with my NAPFA MIX group and shared our top 5 lessons from the past few years, top 5 business hacks, and top 5 podcasts, business or personal. MIX stands for management information exchange. NAPFA MIX groups are groups of financial advisors from geographically different areas that share best practices. Ours is a really good group.
One gem I got out of our meeting was from Danielle Seurkamp from Well Spent Wealth Planning. She went to a NAPFA conference that had a speaker by the name of Sebastian Terry. He spoke about how the death of his close friend changed his life’s trajectory. He went from asking – am I happy? – to creating a list of 100 things he’d like to do. It’s not a bucket list. It’s not about doing things before you die. It’s about doing things that make you feel alive.
The Inspiration
Takeaway
Danielle started her list. More importantly, she gave herself permission to check off 2 or 3 things a year. I am starting my list with my family while on vacation in Florida.
